8:00 -10:00 AM: Registration/Parent room open in the Forrest Room
Receive your registration packet or take a seat to rest a while between activities.
8:00 AM-12:00 PM: Class visitation
Schedule of open classes provided in registration packets.
11:00-1:30 PM: Lunch in Cafe
Cost is included in the ticket fees.
1:00-3:00 PM: Select lectures from faculty
3:00-4:00 PM: Afternoon worship in Needham
4:30-7:00 PM: Dinner in the Café or on your own
Enjoy a delicious meal in our Café or go to your student’s favorite restaurant off campus. This event is not included in your ticket price.
6:00-7:00 PM: Registration/Parent room open in the Forrest Room

7:00-9:00 PM: Family Weekend Concert (NMC)
Enjoy a performance by Vanguard’s world renowned Music Department. Highlights will include the “Parent of the Year” contest award presentation. Cost is included in the ticket fees. Students interested in entering the “Parent of the Year” contest need to have submissions in to parentrelations@vanguard.edu by September 27th. See rules for the contest.
9:00 PM: Sibling Sleepover Kick-Off (Gym)
This is a special time for our students to show their siblings what Vanguard is like first hand. We will kick off with a gathering for some goodies, and then for those siblings of an appropriate age, it is off to the dorms. Those siblings of an opposite gender from their older brother or sister, are welcome to stay the night with one your student’s friends or one of our Ambassador students. To arrange an overnight stay, RSVP to parentrelations@vanguard.edu

11:30-Noon: Meet the President
Have an intimate yet casual time with Vanguard’s President. Hear President Taylor’s vision for the future of Vanguard while you mingle with other parents and Administration and see what makes Vanguard feel like “home”. Cost is included in the ticket fees.
12:00-4:00 PM: Beach Day
Enjoy one of our favorite reasons to live in Southern California with your family. Cost is included in the ticket fees.
3:00 & 5:00 PM: Women’s and Men’s Soccer vs. The Master’s College (Soccer field)
Catch the back to back action as your Vanguard Lions battle for GSAC supremacy! Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for non-VU students with ID. VU students are free. Cost is included in the ticket fees (1 ticket per person for 1 game of choice: Soccer/Volleyball). Additional tickets may be purchased at the door.
6:00 PM: BBQ
Join us for the festivities as we celebrate our school traditions. Bon Appetit will be hosting our tailgate party near the soccer field. Bring your family and friends as we celebrate Gold Pride. Face painting will be provided by the current SGA and student leaders. Cost is included in the ticket fees.
7:00 PM: Volleyball vs. Hope International (The Gym)
Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for non-VU students with ID. VU students are free. Cost is included in the ticket fees (1 ticket per person for 1 game of choice: Soccer/Volleyball). Additional tickets may be purchased at the door.
8:00-10:30 PM: Theatre Production: Americans All (Lyceum)
Families are invited to join us as we enjoy a night at the theatre. Our award winning arts department will showcase Americans All. Intermission refreshments will be provided. Cost is included in the ticket fees. VU students will need to purchase their ticket separately at here, at vanguardtickets.com

Enjoy the day with your family. There is a lot to do in the area; let your student show you their favorite spots and activities! May we also suggest the following “parent-recommended” activities to do with students during the weekend: take your student out to their favorite local restaurant, attend your student’s local church, take your student shopping, or experience some of the local tourist attractions together.
